Using Twitter to Promote Your eBay Listings

I'm loving Twitter and really enjoying connecting with my readers and friends online. (Follow me @MarshaCollier). Twitter can be a very powerful sales tool - when used appropriately. Watch this one minute video with Kat Simpson @katskloset for a couple of ideas on how to grow your eBay sales through social media. Here are a few more things to keep in mind:
  • Don't deluge your Twitter audience with sales messages.
  • Be real, be a person and participate in the conversation
  • Keep in mind that social media is social, not a broadcast media

  1. Another way to use twitter is to see what people out there are talking about, searching for etc.

If you have someone saying "I'm thinking of getting a digital camera, can you recommend a good one by Canon?" there is the potential to enter that conversation and add value if you are a Canon seller for example.

That's not to say that you spam them with messages showing your eBay listings but there is a subtle way to enter the conversation, add value and then perhaps point them in the way of your store front.

  2. Check out http://taweet.com - A good idea would be to schedule all of your eBay auctions on Taweet to cross-promote them back to Twitter.
